I finally went to see this last week, having missed out on Get Out. I found it really smart and timely!
Did anyone else see the new Suspiria? Best movie I've seen in 2018, but probably not everyone's cup of tea (no pun intended). |

^I downloaded Suspiria but haven't watched it.
Watched Pet Sematary (2019), classic, I like it better than the 1989 version. |

Just a quick warning that the movie is probably going to be about 20% effective if you watch it on a computer. It was made to be seen (and heard - truly one of the best surround sound experiences I've had) on a big screen, so it's a damn shame it only had such a limited release. It wasn't even released in many countries as far as I know.
But it's also a very uncompromising film artistically so it was destined to be a commercial flop from the get go - I actually went to see it twice in a theatre just because I knew it's going to disappear fast. |

It's also my film of the year last year
This year I still haven't seen anything I'd consider film of the year material yet. Though Climax was decent

This is so great to hear! Literally nobody has seen it or heard about it around me.
I watched the Netflix documentary Shirkers yesterday, what a bizarre and fascinating story. The outer layer of it is about a film that got lost after completion and its recovery, but beneath it is a beautiful snapshot of Singapore of the early 90s and being a teenager there. I loved it! |

Watched The Curse of La Llorona, it's ok, thought the mom was cute, the Nun was a lot better.

Watched After, only went because girl's cute, movie is pretty much a mild version of Cruel Intentions, 95 percent of the audience in the theater are teenage girls.
