Uh, why?
You wouldn't buy an entire album just because of two songs? That seems a little extreme. Now, if the rest of the album is good, but just those two songs are bad, what would you do? |

Kid A had a lot of haters because it was different.
Variety had a lot of haters because it was boring and, as an extension of that, bad. edit: SR fans... no matter new or old... we're pretty much bitter. Thanks SR, for making us that way.

What I'm going to say here is an exaggeration and certainly biased as well as highly personal, but I do feel that «Killer Tune» goes in such a way as if Izawa intentionally wrote it to frame Ringo up and expose the soft spot in her voice! Too many long, high-pitched notes, as thought she yet needs to sound even shriller? Probably that's also why she named it a killer tune...this piece is an overly harsh test to her voice to say the least; and in my opinion, definitely one of her least pleasant and least beautiful hits. What do you think?

That's an interesting thought.

Killer Tune is definitely the best song off Variety IMO. Ringo's voice has always been shrill and scratchy, its been part of her appeal since her debut. at least for me that is. I'm sure Ringo could just sing it with her head voice, but I don't actually think Ringo ever uses her head voice, most of her songs are from her chest voice, which is pretty brave and probably one of the reasons why her voice has gotten so shrill over the years. she definitely sings balls out all the time and doesn't really take care of her voice, but live fast, die hard, thats why I like her. |
