Yeah I got a PS3 for Christmas primarily for Blu-Ray watching (and Little Big Planet and MGS4) and I haven't had any problems so far. Well, with Blu-Ray playback at least.

Just got back from watch Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Very pretty, cool idea. Is it going to be an Oscar movie? Probably. But the entire time I watched it, I couldn't help but think "Forrest Gump." It's all there. Hero who is compassionate and meek to all? Check. Love interest who he meets as a young girl, then she travels about to find herself and grow up in a more salacious way than our hero? Check. Kindly black friend who is our heroes earliest friend who leaves? Check. Lt. Dan? Check (and hell, he might as well have been called that too.) Girl coming in and out of heroes life, and miraculously showing up at his mom's house? Check. Mom dying, no father? You betcha. Travels all over the map at one point in the story? uh-huh. Turn the feather into a hummingbird and that's in there too. Looking it up - both movies came from the same writer. tsk tsk.

So if you didn't see Forrest Gump, you'll probly be blown away. If you did, well, you'll still like it, but you'll probably feel like you've heard this story before. The ending really surprised me in a profound way though. It will probably surprise you too. On the negative side again, when Button is old (that is to say, in his early years) he too often feels like an unbelievable Robert Zmeckis CGI character (ala Beowulf) that doesn't feel real enough. The character usually loses believability when he starts to talk. You dont see him "breathing" while he talks, his mouth just opens and closes while his throat and chest seem to remain still.

It's a good movie, it will with little doubt go down as one of the best of the year. However, Wall-E is remains the best I've seen.

hmm. i dont think its the TV, i have a decent 1080 bravia and ive hooked up a ps3 to play MGS4 and its fine. and the skips on the blu rays arent really skips, its like 3 min pauses every 15 -20 mins.

3 min pauses are different, then it might be a hardware of disc problem. Hard to diagnose from here though. I usually need to feel out a machine for awhile b4 I can get a grasp of what's wrong.

I just started getting into Heroes.
I feel really bad because I told myself I wouldn't ever watch it.
But I have been tempted...
and now after a two day Heroes binge watching session, I am on season 3. Woe is me. =/
