Quoted for truth.

Good pop songs might sound dime-a-dozen and inane. But it's really not as easy as it sounds to make a successful one.

I thought of "summer love" and all of its ups and downs (mostly ups) and ended up with this muxtape:

Mark Ronson feat. Amy Winehouse / Valerie
Rilo Kiley / Breakin' Up
Depapepe / Summer Parade
Madonna / Miles Away
Mika Nakashima / Dance with the Devil
Duffy / Serious
The Beatles / Medley: Drive My Car, The Word & What You're Doing
LCD Soundsystem / Someone Great
Utada Hikaru / Making Love
She & Him / Sweet Darlin'
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs / Dudley
Green Day / Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)

It has a nice, feel-good flow in this order, so try not to skip anything if you listen.

^ Some great choices
The Winehouse cover was interesting, though I prefer the original
You picked the only passable song from Rilo Kiley's new album

And props for She & Him (and LCD to a lesser extent), I love how Deschanel chose to stick with that oldie sound throughout the album.

Updated mine. Thought I'd start with some catchy indie anthems which gradually start turning into wider, indie epics. Interesting that both F999 and I ended our Muxtapes with Arcade Fire, something I did before seeing that he did it.

Edit: Rep Power: 4? I didn't know there was such a thing. w00t.
