15/143 seats taken for the live screening in Singapore. Feels really bad, man... Only 15 great fans...

15/143 seats in Singapore... A little disappointed Ringo's music hasn't reach this far yet. Well, we have been known to listen to only mainstream music, I guess this is it. Radios only blare mainstream stuff old and new. There is never any indie bands or local band/single songs played.

i always thought Singapore music scene is better than HK, as my friend from HK visited Singapore last week for a festival, many great act such as feist, m83, the horrors, the pains of being pure at heart were all there, but it never happened in HK

Sure, we have great music festivals and the likes and even Dynamite! being used in a local commercial. But what about the average day or average person? I don't see much of it. I don't really want to go into politics but... it is a little stifled here. Even busking, you need a permit which you have to get after an interview and audition every year. To add on to that, it is Singaporeans and permanent residents only. This is my main disgruntle right now because I would really like to occasionally go out on the streets and play but these red tapes holds me back. Typically Singaporeans don't really have a mindset that make them "go out of the way to get things done". (Feeling a little bad saying this)

It would be great if a person could just take his instrument to the street and start playing. It is a little scary for us to have police walking towards us, we don't have bold defiance in our blood and the law is definitely very strict. Of course, the permit would allow only "good" buskers but I don't think it is necessary because a bad busker wouldn't have such thick skin anyway.

I have little knowledge to back this up.

Side-note: Maybe because of my biased views, take it with a pinch of salt.
