You know... I might agree with you there to be honest. This or Jinsei wa Omoidoori (which I still find woefully under-appreciated by people)

I love Irohanihoheto, but it can't beat Seishun no Matataki or Tengoku For The Tube as the best Ringo written song since 2009. though if Ringo didn't do a self-cover of Seishun I would've never listened to it cause the Chiaki version is downright unlistenable for me with that awful autotune (autotuned vocals only sound good inside a Yasutaka Nakata production, otherwise it's a mess)

Screens from the new PV:

Well... it looks like Seiteiki Healing 5 will be a collection of gorgeous looking videos... Carnation, Jiyuu and now this all fair very well in the visual department for sure!

EDIT: I can't ignore what another person (ShinjiPG) said about the sense of her 'heading home/in the opposite direction of the parade'. In the last (if you don't count the new Senko Shoujo) Jihen video, she was walking with the crowd. The last shot on this new video shows her alone with them uprising strings... hopefully a sign that she is infact finished on her journey and ready to be a solo artist again. Or maybe it's all just wishful thinking and there's no extra meaning there at all. Just an interesting thought.

Also, props to the timing and editing on this video.... great job!

Thanks for the screencaps and interpretation, deadgrandma. I think Shinji is hitting the nail on the head... It's definitely in line with the concept of the original "iroha" poem -

According to Wikipedia, the poem has more musical ties than I'd previously believed. Apparently, in addition to the poem being used to counter theater seats, the first line (also the name of Ringo's song) is also the Japanese equivalent of the do re mi:

A B C D E F G
イ ロ ハ ニ ホ ヘ ト

I haven't seen the video yet, but if we go by that interpretation, then it's awesome nod to Tadarathingy (and as an extension of that, Ringo no Uta), that the crowd is wearing kitsune masks. Ringo's utopia in Tokyo Jihen was just an illusion (is that the same kimono she wore in the Jihen PV?)

It's a very good looking video but the slow mo is totally at odds with the song and the result feels like treading water when you want to run.

Whaw, this PV is really gorgeous and inspiring !
I enjoy this carnival... colors, ribbons, confetti, it's really full of life.

Would there be any "easter eggs" ?
I think about the two students at 3:00 (Koufukouron)
and the umbrella a the ending (parallel to the Mesai's beginning )
... or maybe it's just coincidences.

Ah, and I can't help myself thinking about
Passion - Utada Hikaru
(start from 1:25 to 2:15 )and others Kiriya Kazuaki's videos, I love this !

Does somebody know or can translate the director's name ?
I'm really curious about who he or she is !

Whoa, the song is actually pretty awesome. She's still got it!

I agree, though, with whoever said they don't like the way she processes her vocals these days. There is definitely a difference. Her voice in this song is all smoothed out and characterless; that's my one complaint. If she's gotta process the hell out of her voice, I'd much rather she break out the Byoushou Public distortion effects again. That would be sweet.
