I don't think this is a real PV... if it is they did a good job at making it genuinely karaoke looking.

It's a promotional video for sure... released on Warner Music Japan's youtube.

Maybe it's more equivalent to the lyric videos that people have been releasing lately as opposed to a proper music video, but it fits the definition of a promotional video.

Yeah, pretty much.

If you ignore the lyrics, it's like Utaite Myouri meets Samurai Champloo.

The Apple is cute, but not Ringo enough for me. Bored after a few listens.

My first impression is that it makes me want to hear a song from my middle school music exploring:

God Lives Underwater - From Your Mouth

it makes me want a whole electronica-oriented album for her. seriously, that's the direction she should take her music to next

WHAT THE HELL IS THIS.

THIS BEAUTY.

WHAT.

It's so unlike Ringo and at the same time so freakishly Ringo it's like she has been REVIVED FROM THE DEAD.

It's very like Towa Tei though. Which at times makes it feel like ANYONE could be singing it but that bridge and then you go "AW YEAH, Ringo is BRINGING IT"

Electronic SR album is essential, with something like this as a cover:

Track 1:Home, Track 11: Exit, Bonus Track: Ringo no Uta (arranged by Sonata). The double a-side songs will use new arrangements, with the Solitude song in its original SWITCH form

Either that or Utaite Myouri: PIMP Pact and Towa Tei-Pact.

Hopefully I'm not being too silly. The theory I posted when Tengoku/Dopamint was released:

So Phase 2 are being crucified (by the fans) and they're hibernating peacocks, so they'll release their album in April, which corresponds with Easter.

Their next album will be their final album. The TJ bird will become a phoenix, and they'll record the second bunch of Sports-era written songs that Ringo said didn't go with the album.

It'll be a double album, named Tragedy/Drama and Comedy (The point is that they're not opposing forces but one and the same. It'll reject the duality of the Sports era). Yep, and this is why the recent single is a double A-side.
I got a few things right!

A lot of this Towa Tei album reminds me of Apogee and Perigee...

Believe me, this is an excellent thing to be compared to.

Yes. All of this, yes.

I get the impression that the next album is going to follow somewhat the same formula as Sandman Ghostship Sanmon Gossip did. That being Ringo Shiina feat. everybody, maybe even a couple TJ members. Just hopefully everybody includes less Neko this time around.

Edit: I notice that the lyrics are somewhat structured in the verses. First verse(s): entirely kana; second: (almost) entirely kanji; last: mix between the two. Significance? We report, you decide.

The 'doo-doo-doo' bit, when it stops being cute, was surprising because it sounds very similar to her MM/SS-era vocals (her scatting in Honnou specifically) and I didn't know she could still sound like that.
