The actual Iron Chefs are actual chefs. Yes.
As are the ones on the American show, as far as I know. Haven't heard of the controversy though.

I believe the controversy was from the replacement of the popular Chairman Kaga character. He was an actor and was replaced by an actor.

The French Iron Chef was a total badass. If I remember correctly, Hiroyuki Sakai had the most wins of any chef (though he was the most challenged too).
My two ultimate dining goals are to one day eat at one of Tom Colicchio's restaurants (one is right here in LA so that's not too lofty of a goal) and the other is to eat at Hiroyuki Sakai's if I ever go to Japan and have a huge amount of spending money.

I believe that on Iron Chef the contestants are told the secret ingredient is one of, say, five things, but not which one it is. My favorite Food Network show was Good Eats, but I don't know if that is still being made. Used to watch Chopped, but don't bother any more because the host really gets on my nerves. Just don't like listening to him speak. That Baltimore cake show (Ace of Cakes?) was excellent, but I have not seen it in ages.
I like the Vegas reality trio, Pawn Stars, Counting Cars and American Restoration. Even though the drama is scripted, there are almost always some cool items that are interesting to learn about. By far my favorite reality show is Flipping Out. Jeff cracks me up, so many clients and co-workers are such characters, and it doesn't ever feel like its scripted. |

Yes.
I am prepared for all my friends to annoyingly repeat "Her?" incessantly, followed by silly chicken dances, and other running jokes. |

Have just watched the first 2 episodes of the TV Series of Fargo. Quite pleasantly surprised. Hell, you could say I'm impressed and actually excited to follow this. The first episode sucked me right in, and it keeps the "feel" of the original strong.... and who doesn't like the original Fargo?

Cool, another Peaks freak.
I saw it on its original broadcast and it's one of my favorite shows. Fire Walk With Me is an astounding movie as well. |
