If I understand what you're saying, no-one stated that Sgt.Peppers or KSK is objectively 'better music' than the other, and I'd love to see someone explain why they are.

Ok, I made a mistake. Osiris DID say "I think." So that's my bad for overlooking that.
As for why Sgt Pepper > KZK. Historical and popular/social impact factors aside, Sgt Pepper and KZK both test the sounds and "instrumentation" you can use in making music. Sgt. Pepper tho at it's core has what I think are more accessible songs than KZK. While KZK you sorta have to deciper, Peppers you can just listen to and still appreciate the songs and then notice the this-and-thats. Talking about The Beatles really doesnt do favors to Sanmon Gossip...

I'm gonna leave it here. Shouldn't have brought them up in the first place -- they're both great albums.
And to shoehorn in a forced comment to make this on-topic again: Togatta Teguchi is my favourite track. Wish she created a whole album like that. Followed by Vogue. |

And good ol' Sgt. Pepper was built on the foundation of Brian Wilson's Pet Sounds, as I have mentioned once before. Pet Sounds broke the mold of pop music "instrumentation" and is amazing, and Sgt.Pepper explored the new territory further. Pet Sounds: revolutionary, Sgt. Pepper: evolutionary. But enough of this, as long as we get our pop culture history straight.

IMO
SG is not a masterpiece SG as a whole does not have replay power for me, but some individual songs do have I'll put like this SS>KSK>MM=kyouiku>favorite albuns from another favorite artists>SG>HF>UM>adult>least favorite albuns from another favorite artists>Variety and my favorite SG parts are: vogue: after around 2:50 until the end I love how SR sings, and HZM playing give to this song a TJ phase 1 feeling, sooooo good *-* mayonaka 2: flute O chitten kara: the gorgeous layered vocals in the end karisome: how this is a good song to sing while I take a bath FBJ: everytime she says 'La' is so cute mayakashi yasaotoko: all the instrumentation and the vocal melody in the refrain togatta: all the guitar lines in this song, and the vocal melody in the refrain too irokoizata: parapapai paparapapayapaaa bonsai hada: the whole song yokyou: the guitar marusa: uki vocals LOL and the intro never thought I'd have uki as my favorite part in a song is uki with SR in the vocals right?

Since Sgt Pepper was made by me and my identical twin sister, it automatically wins. End of discussion.

lol... Ringo looks like such a dick in that hat.
Her hair is looking quite Utada Hikaru/HEART STATION-ish I really like her top too. On the topic of SG.. I still love it after a fair amount of listens! Nothing is too catchy, and most of it is catchy enough. Just the way I like it. I'm also hearing bits and pieces I haven't heard before here and there, which is always nice. I'm really just glad it kicks Variety's ass! |
