Yes, I can see you point, so it's really largely a subjective thing; for me it's easy to appreciate the painful beauty in some equally shrill songs like Tsumi to Batsu, but in such an upbeat song as Killer Tune, I can't help feeling it's a bit out of place...

Something I noticed about the promotion shots:

Hata's hand on Vinyl release
Uki's hand (presumably) on OSCA
Izawa's hand (presumably) on Killer Tune
Kame's hand (presumably) on Senkou Shoujo

what about Ringo's hand?

She brought at least as much to the songs as Hata did, but he's the one getting his hand photographed for Variety cover art.

I always did love how they notated the songwriting credits on Variety.

Variety is one of the greatest pop/rock albums of all time. On the first few listens, it seems to lack punch of the previous albums, and the sound is very retro, but the melodies are sweet and addictive once they grow on you, just like Neil Young's Harvest or Elvis Costello's Armed Forces. I really like every song on it.

"Boutomin" is awesome. The male vocals inject just enough masculinity into the music yet they do not steal the spotlight from Ringo.

Should I bite my tongue? Or should I bring up the fact that you listen to bland, whiny arena rock of Oasis and discredit all your Ringo related opinions because of that?...Just sort of did...
