Lousy/lame movies actually make a better topic for casual conversation with your bud. I can rant hours hours about tasteless jokes in Zohan. But when I spend 5 minutes praising some acclaimed movies, people look at me like some smartass-wannabe.

There are good conversational bad movies, and then there are bad movies that eat away at our humanity. Dodgeball, Will Ferrell movies, most Carrey pics, those are good conversational bad movies.

Saw 5 falls into the humanity eroding movie category. Spend two months every year shooting torture porn for a Halloween release and still make 30 mil. Most small budget D Horror films give more effort than the Saw franchise.

Thats just the strange way things go. It is kinda weird. Look at how quickly the Zazen Xstasy discussion died here. Yet look at which album is the one that's most frequently mentioned.

I guess its that drama = life, or at least entertainment.
