Well, this isn't a specific Ringo/Jihen playlist per se, but all their covered songs are in my 'covers' playlist.

And now, I'm going to make a 'Ringo's English Songs' playlist... +_+;; *stole the idea from HIMH Rat*

I thought about this since you messaged me on last.fm, HEDOfloe,
and I realized I used to have a lot of playlists (kind of like Lena-chan) but then my computer crashed and I lost them all. But, inspired by you, I'm building new ones - even trying to keep them symmetrical XD Currently working on one for when I'm out jogging, and one with soft, sweet background music to listen to while reading or studying. I'll post them when I feel "done".

Cool, but now that you mentioned it, what is it that people mean when they say that Ringo's albums are "symmetrical"?

Oh so it is simply that the track names on the opposite sides of the album have the same number of characters?

Well, almost.
If you look at the tracklist to Shouso Strip;
  1. 虚言症
  2. 浴室
  3. 弁解デビュシー
  4. ギブス
  5. 闇に降る雨
  6. アイデンティティ
  7. 罪と罰
  8. ストイシズム
  9. 月に負け犬
  10. サカナ
  11. 病床パブリック
  12. 本能
  13. 依存症
You have this kind of symmetry:
  • Tracks 1 and 13 are both in kanji with three characters
  • Tracks 2 and 12 are both in kanji with two characters
  • Tracks 3 and 11 both consist of two kanji + an English word in katakana
  • Tracks 4 and 10 are both in katakana with three characters
  • Tracks 5 and 9 have the pattern kanji + "ni" + kanji + "ru" + kanji
  • Tracks 6 and 8 are both in katakana
So it's a little bit more complicated than that. But maybe this was what you meant? XD

Okay I haven't actually gotten around to doing this yet, but this is what I plan to do...

I will make a separate playlist for each of these categories:

1. Shiina Ringo Pop Songs. Lots of stuff from MM and things like Aozora, Suberidai, and Memai.

2. SR Rock-your-socks-off songs. Stuff that could maybe convert some rock-only music listeners to her.

3. SR Jazz songs. This can range from things like Rinne Highlight to things even like Himitsu, which have a strong jazz/swing influence.

4. SR English songs. For those who can't stand listening to lyrics in a different language.

Oh, good idea!

I don't get it, how come people don't like to listen to lyrics in a foreign language? I have a few friends who are like that too. They have no idea how much they're missing out...
(and I do realise that asking this question in this forum might be somewhat futile, since most of us here don't actually speak Japanese but love SR to bits.)
