I won't last a day without you (live)

Shiina Ringo and Utada Hikaru (as Toshiba EMI Girls) October 8, 1999 Thx to kou3ka @ YouTube who uploaded it. Omg this version outclasses the studio version. (even in terms of SR's pronunciation XD) And I never thought SR can pull out an R&B voice so perfectly. She did sound like Mariah Carey at times. No wonder she "wanted to be her". XD |

Thanks for the link, Canto!
If Ringo put out an album of I Won't Last a Day Without You/Kuroi Orufe material (just once), I'd soak my Long Johns. I mean, she knows rhythm and how to write a hook and she has the voice for it when she wants to, so I think it'd be interesting.

Yeah, I've always preferred this to the studio version. It sounds so much more natural and heart-felt.

Let me say first off that I am a hikki-chan fan.
Now I personally don't like the song, in any version, it is not my style. BUT it has shiina and utada so I have to like it, even if its just a bit. I thought that the studio version sounds more polished, but the live version has more soul. I think that hikki's voice was very wavy in the live version (going on and off the pitch fast, in some places). I felt she was definetly the weaker vocalist... Miss shiina was great but her voice went off pitch a couple times. Oh course this is not present in the studio version. But I prefer the live version, because of its imperfections. I really heart the ablibing at the end, it makes the version so special. I never heard that version, so it was a treat for me, thanks a bunch.
