The Ringo Book also weighs more than the rest of the SR/TJ photobooks combined, so the 8800yen retail price was no joke.
The problem I have with the product, is that it feels more like a scrapbook than like a photobook. Hardly any of the individual photos really fill a page on their own; it's mostly a shitload of smaller photos. The book also doesn't lend itself entirely well to scanning attempts, due to some pages having pockets or foldouts. It's something you really have to own, since 'downloads' of it can't do it justice. Unfortunately the Ringo Book has never been directly available to international customers. Everyone outside Japan who managed to get their hands on this, had to use a deputy service or a friend in Japan. Since the book is quite heavy, the international shipping on it (when you can get it out of Japan somehow) is a bitch. For more information, the Ringo Book has its own topic.

Question, does anyone here ever put a Ringo picture in a picture frame?

lol
Y'know, I done that a few years ago. It was a magazine page and a frame felt like a reasonable way to protect it. It just didn't look right though. It was like she was my wife/family and I abandoned that creepy ass idea in favour of a solitary large poster on the wall. In my defence, I was about 14 at the time with an unhealthy fascination for Ringo! |

You could have left them in behind the new photo in case you switch back!

I've never put Ringo in a picture frame, no. But I did have a picture of a couple of other artists framed when I was younger. Of course, being autographed helped my case.

The problem with poster framing is the cost. Cheap frames are reasonable enough, but when you start looking at proper solutions it can get silly. I've got so many posters that if I started to go down that route it would cost a fortune. I can't justify the spend when there's a million other things to buy.
I might do the KZK one but I'll have to have another look at the prices (it's been some time since I last looked). In all actuality, I'd rather get a good Seiko Oomori pic framed. |
