Eno's music was uniquely both evocative and baffling to this 70's teen. A promise that deliciously unusual things were occurring, and also a painful reminder that my young mind was not yet wise enough to really grasp the unique methods exercised during the creation of this music. |

In another thread we were talking about video cliches. I felt inspired to revisit one of my favorite, most derivative videos. Garbage itself was pretty derivative, but they were damned good at it.
(and Shirley Manson was unreasonably hot)

What I thought was cliche alternative 90s. That, or this:
Oh and D'Arcy was waaaaaaay hotter than Shirley :-p

hahahah not even a little bit.
(that goes for all counts. I see nothing cliche in the Primus vid other than it looks awfully 90's. As for "Today" I guess the psychedelic painting is cliche, but I don't see anything otherwise) Darcy's not bad, but shes not even the second hottest band member in that video

Hmm, I don't know. The only time I've thought D'Arcy was hot was in the Zero video. Shirley isn't really my type either.
Oh, James.

@Jihad/Maou: how do you rate Melissa Auf Der Maur? (Looks and music). I think she's pretty awesome when she wants to be.

The Grates
(I can't find a video of Borrowed Skin, but it is also VERY GOOD) Listened to Gravity Won't Get You High months ago, wasn't impressed. Skipped Teeth Lost, Hearts Won. Just listened to some of Secret Rituals, and it. is. amazing. Just MINDBLOWING! Better than Yeah Yeah Yeahs! And of course, completely unavailable outside of Australia. So that makes now 3 albums I want that are ONLY available in Australia. |
