So been listening to the Magdala album a little bit, I imagine this is gonna be something I'm gonna play to death. There is not a bad track, and Magdala have created their own little world inside their music. Hatis Noit sounds wonderful throughout the whole thing. The single above is probably the 'happiest' sounding track on the album, and the little changes it goes through add a really subtle but song changing touch. I really dig it. It may even have potential for me to end up liking this more than Mutyumu.

<3 Adorable.
What's up with the whenever-I-go-solo-I-go-to-a-field-wearing-a-white-dress fad? Mariko did the same thing on that Atashi no Shoudou video.
And I will talk A LOT about Vola & The Oriental Machine from now on. Last edited by Inseu : 2012.12.03 at 03:47 PM. |

CLT the Mellon Collie reissue.
I feel silly to feel so happy to listen to an album I've heard countless times, but here I are. EDIT: Man I'm old. I'm on "Take Me Down" and I've felt like i've been listening for hours already. EDIT 2: re: TurleFu -- what version to listen to?: The remaster is very good. I'm listening to the 24/96 files and there are details unintelligible on the original master (like the screeching lead guitar on "Where Boys Fear to Tread"? New to me.) That said, when I think MCIS, I think of a sludgy record. Nostalgia aside. You're not going to go wrong either way. Thousands of millennials fell in love with the original as I did. Forced to choose, go ahead with the remaster (and maybe give the original a spin some time down the road for good measure.)

I love the incensed vocals on that track. Definitely more nuanced on the remaster

I think I'll go with the remaster, because I generally don't like sludgy and think I'll have to ease myself into it.

^ Have you listened to other Pumpkins albums yet? MCIS is a pretty exhausting starting point tbh. Siamese Dream is probably the best way to go...
