Default Do you...CAN you sing along?

I can't speak Japanese, but I tend to sing a lot to songs I'm listening to/stuck in my head.

So when it comes to Ringo/JP music I end up gibberish with the occasional 'konnichiwa' 'sayonara' or 'desu' or 'ka' (I don't even know how common those words are in her lyrics...Identity = "blahblahblahblahblahblahblahdesuka!") which is kinda ridiculous when you imagine it (You don't have to, actually. Go to youtube). It's all fun though, especially if you play up to it =P

The only songs I can sing along to perfectly is Morphine (The bit at the end would be extremely fun at karaoke parties) and Marusad and Suberidai. And this includes her English songs... except Sigma (Random note: that song reminds me of The Ting Tings)

Of course I do/can. Do I always know the meaning behind the words? No, but it doesn't stop me from learning the lyrics and singing along. I sang a few songs solo (Gibs, Gunjou, Koufukuron) at karaoke. One time Tsumi to Batsu was playing over the air at a karaoke place I frequented named Big Wave. I was walking down the hall towards my room while singing along to the song and impressing one of the waitresses. I miss Japan.

Yep! I made a mix CD of random music to play in my car, and whenever a Ringo song comes on, I go CRAZY belting that out! Embarrassingly enough, I even write my own English lyrics to fit in the rhythm based on the translation on freckle's website, and I sing those too!

well, I don't speak Japanese but I'm familiar with the syllables so I do sometimes try to sing along with that but I'm sure I get plenty wrong... probably 1-2 syllables per sentence
I also mumble over fast parts.

I often times drunkenly serenade my friends with my awful vocals and mispronounced/forgotten lyrics of Shiina Ringo :3 But some songs I kinda know okay. My Japanese is awful but I manage in my drunken hazes ;]

I actually have been to a few forums and people will post their lyrics they make in a similar manner :3

Speaking of English translations of SR songs that are written to be sung, I was late to oasis heart3's thread by 2 years. It seems he had quite a number of reworked SR translations, but the links he posted to the lyrics are dead. I'm not sure if I could have contributed to the project, but it's unfortunate that it didn't take off in one form or another. With Zach entering the scene in post #52 of that thread, the project seemed to have a good chance of success. I wonder why Zach didn't reply or oasis heart3 didn't pursue Zach further given his apparent enthusiasm.

Maybe Zach was busy working on his own project... check out Inescapable on Zach's myspace page.
