I got my Blu-ray earlier today. I only did a quick run through of Season Sayonara, Sounan, and Kimaru. The picture quality is fantastic. It's a true HD master (not upscaled SD) in MPEG-4 AVC with a bitrate in the 30+ range. The audio is great, but a little disappointing. It's 48 kHz/24bit linear PCM in stereo only. Yep, no surround. Channel separation is still better than the DVD.

Helloooooooo.
You guys probably don't know me. I usually lurk these forums.... I got my DVD in the mail a couple of days ago. I don't really care too much about audio and video quality and whatnot so I'm not sure what to say about that.... BUT, to be honest, OSCA, FOUL and surprisingly Sounan were probably my favorite, most back-to-back watched performances on the DVD. I guess it's kind of weird though 'cause when I first heard it transitioning from "Zettai Zetsumei", I seriously went "What the fuck is this?" Then I watched it again the next day and I started liking it. "Three active minutes" was pretty cool with the timer in the background and all, but Uki kind of ruined it for me. I thought he looked so silly dancing and singing on stage - he seriously has no stage charisma imo. Idk. I'm not musically savvy like all of you other guys on these forums, but those were my thoughts while watching it. So yeah. |

her time in that dress was mostly spent bent over, so i'll call it the TnA outfit.
such an unlady-like new mannerism for Ringo... |

My copy of the BR Version of Ultra C arrived today... I'm rly curious about the A/V quality they should be able to provide on a storage disk like that... AND TJ's performances, of course

^ More than the storage disc space, I believe the most important difference is the compression format. The MPEG-2 codec is quite a deficient format when it comes to high contrast between bright and dark color shades (doesn't matter the amount of bits used) and, as Glathannus pointed some time ago, "smoke and lighting are major elements of Ultra C".
So yes, I envy you. |
