I have no doubt I'll have one of the strongest accents of native-English speakers. Even people in England often have trouble understanding Geordies (People from Newcastle). There's a popular Geordie character in our excellent show Alan Partridge that might give you an idea, though my accent isn't quite as thick because I'm not in the city centre:

Yes, people do sometimes confuse it with Scottish

I know Shiina Ringo from several years ago (maybe 5 or 6), but it is now that I'm enjoying her music more than I ever did before.
