Of course, I understand. I just think SG disappointed me so much, 'cause even if I'm interested in TJ, I'm absolutely a Solo Ringo lover too...

I read a good musicwhore review of SG and the guy said that what solo Shiina has over Tokyo Jihen is 'texture'

On the other hand, what Sports has that Sanmon Gossip doesn't is 'Kimaru'

But SG has "Bonsai Hada" so it automatically "wins".

I just listened through Sports once so far, but my first thought is Sanmon Gossip. I'm with bromithia, in a few months I might change.

Sports is more cohesive than SG, but its more like a single thought on a subject, whereas ringo's SG tends to be like stepping inside a schizophrenic's mind. it might be sloppy, but its ample in character and eccentricities, which tends to make it gain enjoyment on repeated listens. Sports is feeling grayscale in a way, whereas SG has a lot of colors to me, I think about it in pale oranges and pinks.

I picked Spurts. Its an album born of turmoil, struggling and growth for all involved. It brought Ringo out of her comfort zone and made her squirm.

And Kimaru is a sweet vaporous sound drug!

there are more tracks that i dislike on Sanmon than Sports. I'd prefer take any Uki/Izawa song off Sports over shagadelic showtunes.

SG for beautiful songs. Shiina's just an amazing song writer. And from what I've heard on Sports. Izawa>Ukigumo. After only one listen through of Sports the only song I found myself listening to again (not written by Shiina) was Ikiru. It's pretty amazing. I'll have to listen to all the songs again though, I know there's more there, I know it's probably better than Variety, but I need time to find out why.

I'm disappointed this is even a poll let alone how close it is. Granted there are some good tracks on Sports, the bad is beyond Variety bad.
