So, I know this is old and all, but I still don't understand the basis of this statement. It's simply put one of the most absurd and ignorant statements I've ever read on this forum (even going back to the RJ days). I'm trying to get a feel for how Ringo/Jihen's music has more depth than Luna Sea's since you denied personal preference. Luna Sea uses the standard band instruments (two guitars, bass, and drums), adds as many "filler" instruments (piano, violin, etc) as Jihen and early Shiina, and then layers the guitar (three Inorans, two Sugizos for example) at times. Ryuichi's lyrics are also better and more poetic than Ringo's. They play with heart and desire. What more can you want? These songs are my final attempt sharing Luna Sea's amazing music:

If you can't hear the depth of these songs, you either don't like non-Ringo music or you're deaf.

So you say they have the same instruments as Ringo and Jihen so I guess they have just as much depth. But, "they play with heart and desire"? I'd like to think that Ringo does the same.

I concur with your song choices Maou. However...

Just forget it. Your attempt is noble, but it's like trying to convince me to like Ukigumo (except that Luna Sea is in no way similar to Uki). If someone doesn't get it, then fine. Luna Sea has enough fans who truly appreciate their music, they don't need another naive fan on board.

Ouch. It's not about "getting" anything. If you dont like something, you dont like it. There is no understanding to it, you just dont feel it.

One more time:
I love how much people are stating opinion as fact in this thread.

Everything is opinion. Facts are just opinions that we have widely agreed on to be true. Do we have to go back to the basics now?
