Namie's releasing a new single, and the primary a-side "Sit!Stay!Wait!Down!" is fire. Like, seriously. Here's the link. Besides, just look at this cover. It's beautiful. |

Teinen Pushiganga was the first song I heard by Jun Togawa, and I was so amazed when I found out it was a cover of an Argentinian folkloric song I wasn't familiar with — I remember the percussion sounded me similar to this styles. El Borrachito (the drunkie) is a folk style called chacarera, and it's usually accompanied by a particular dance. Togawa's cover has a really different feel to it (it's even noticeable from her stage performance), and the lyrics are completely new. |

Kate Bush - 50 Words for Snow
Streaming here, for now:
http://www.npr.org/2011/11/13/142133...r-snow?ps=cprs So far, feels like a continuation of Aerial, but the calendar has pushed past autumn. If her voice obviously sounds aged, I have to remind myself I have been listening to her for over thirty years. Taking the album as a whole, I am enjoying it much more than I enjoyed "Wild Man" in isolation. I don't think the albums she is making now lend themselves easily to singles. |
