Please.

HZM drowned out all of the guitar in Kyoiku.

^ Not to mention Kameda drowned out the guitar during Electric Mole and at times on Kyouiku.

I think the illusion that "a lot" of people in this forum dislike Adult comes from the fact that the few who dislike Adult are the most active members here

I don't see how anyone can judge Adult by comparing it to Kyoiku, its apples and orange I tell ye (or Papaya...). The sound and the mood while not complete opposites, are quite different. Sounan != BlankOut, Kenka don't sound like Dynamite just coz its Engrish

I loved Adult the first time I heard it, it just sounds so much more... listener friendly (not pop)... on the other hand I disliked Kyoiku when it first came out, but loved it after watching the Dynamite! tour.

On the negative side though, apart from the few songs I don't like, the only thing I dislike about Adult is that it doesn't have a general direction, it really is a bunch of songs jammed together, listening to them back to back don't make it any better.

But I still voted option 1

1. I wasn't being fully serious.
2. It's not because they're both in English. It's because Kenka is a short "SR Jazz" type song like Dynamite and Tramp.

You have an interesting viewpoint, but I am baffled by your comment. Examples please?

Kyouiku, as Maou said, was not produced all that well. The sound is a little shallow and a little astringent. But the songs are strong and the arrangements aren't lacking -- as the Dynamite Out DVD proves. The reason I say it's more serious is because the album doesn't flippantly change things up the way Adult does. Songs are delivered wholly, moods are preserved. Adult bounces around like a ping-pong ball. A very clever, classy ping-pong ball, but a ping-pong ball nevertheless.

The self-referential sarcasm of Adult seemed obvious to me. I'm not prepared to defend the viewpoint yet -- let me find some examples and I'll post again.

Before having seen Dynamite Out ! I thought Adult was way better than Kyouiku, in which no songs really popped out. I watched Dynamite Out a few time ago and my opinion totally changed. I think Kyouiku songs are absolutely made for live. Both are good albums anyways.

I love Adult. The ping-pong-ness of it is what endears me to its sound. I love bands that keep surprising me with each song, and I don't know what's going to happen next. I don't like it when an album's sound is too predictable (which is not the case with any of Shiina/Jihen releases).
Kyoiku is good, but not my favourite. I also agree it was tailor-made for the live experience, in which case I certainly enjoy the songs more.

i like perfume/cologne..
the album has many 'art' aspects to it
the word 'adult'.. i think of 'maturity'
but then you have the bottle.. ? and now we've got all that 'open-interpretation' stuff to go along with it..
