First post in a long time. Forum has gotten a bit negative...hoping the new album, bad or good, brings some new blood into the mix.

When TeslaGuy picked up Koenji Hyakkei, it might be better timing to bring these clips, but I was not in the mood back then.
I felt Zazen Boys was acceptable/commercial version of Ruins at Countdown Japan, but it probably went in the wrong direction.

Just finished listening to Joanna Newsom's new album.
I was definitely disappointed with it after the craziness that is Ys. This album seemed very ho-hum in comparison, especially her restrained vocals. Five carefully crafted songs clocking in at almost one hour is fine with me, but stretching 18 fairly long tracks over three discs is just too much. Had she just released the first disc with maybe two or three more songs I would have liked it, but starting at "Baby Birch", nothing caught my attention. It's probably a grower, but it also felt like more of a summer album, so I'll try it again in a few months. Highlights: Easy, Have One On Me, Good Intentions Paving Company |

great live by YUKI, her first tv performance in over 5 years, for the 1000th episode special of Music Station. She also just announced she is doing a huge tour in Japan this summer and fall, titled after her new single and album of the same name, ureshikutte dakiauyo. great song, very warm and relaxing. |
