Ok whats the pick ups in Uki's strat? looks like P90s or sumfing. And I can picture Izawa thinking about how he should drop that piano on Uki for playing that solo. Some simple jazz/blues lick would have do Mr floating cloud...
It occured to me that by focusing on her vocals, SR may not play a guitar at all in the album... Man I love the way she strums, so effortlessly graceful.

Her skirt was ugly, although it looked water proof.
Good happy sounding song, a much better choice for a singe then OSCAR. |

anyone notice a theme here? Look at her vocals on the chorus in Tegami...then Pinochio...now here....Kaban no Nakami is the only song that breaks the tradition of high held out dramatic choruses. Izawa must really love torturing her voice, XD.

Hey you guys, I'm back I took a break from Stockholm so I figured, let's not log onto EM until I've heard Killer Tune. And now I have.
OSCA is a fun song, fun in the way that doesn't last that long unfortunately. I can dance to it, but on that single overall, I think Kaban is the song I'll listen to the most. [/off topic] Killer Tune... I love. The video is sweet: I love that haircut on Ringo, I love the very strange yet adorable clothes (kind of princess-on-acid-and-helium), I love the rain. And the song is wonderful too! Sure, I'm still not 100% into Uki's guitar style, but it doesn't bother me that much either. This does make me look forward to the album, and as much as your posts make me laugh Jihad, I strongly disagree. (side note: at 1:45, the jpopsuki rip, i think i see something written on Ringo's hat.... hmmm....) |

I am convinced Shiina is just fooling herself. That chorus in Killer Tune... her voice cannot crune (sp?) like she's trying to. Sure, I like playing basketball, and I'd dare say I'm even pretty damn good at it -- but I'm not built for prime time so to speak. Just as Shiina, despite how she really really really wants to make this kind of music, doesn't seem she was made for it. Shes not Ella Fitzgerald or whoever the fuck she's trying to be.
She is this: Her voice screeches like that -- doesn't quite mix with every genre of music. Yet fits with one as well as peaches with cream, and she did so well with it in the past. Stretching the artistic wings is neat and fine. But at this point -- we get it. If youre dead-set on not rocking, then do something new and not the same rut you seemingly have been desperately trying to get right for the last 4 years (excluding the inspired holy grail of Dynamite Out, and Adult as an album that had no supporting dvds.) If Variety was a more Hatsukoi Shoujo vein or something, then ok thats fine, I can live with that (even if i'd likely still be crying for some guitar.) But really, we get it Shiina. Get back to where you once belonged. It's like the Beatles making Sgt Pepper or the White Album then saying, "you know what? Lets go back to playing skiffle" and they do so from then on. It begs me to ask "wryyyy??" Denying your dna, not a good thing.

Oh man...this sure is a killer tune. She looks really happy in this.
I think this is the best she's looked in a long time, beats the OSCA pv hands down. I don't know what else to say. I'm super excited for the album, goddamnit. o_o

I'm always the last to know, but just in case... it looks like there is a much higher res killer tune on jpopsuki now. (Unverified.)

They aren't P90s. They are mini-humbuckers. Particularly, they are Seymour Duncan Duckbuckers. They're designed to try to emulate the Strat quack without the 60 cycle hum.
