Haha, I remember we had a big discussion about that. I also thought they were mannequin's since how they are posed and how the lighting was, but it definitely had to be the effect they were going for.
If you do not have the DVD, you can see the models from different angles in the booklet here: http://www.couichyland.com/Monochrom...ze-JCHI-06.jpg http://www.couichyland.com/Monochrom...ze-JCHI-05.jpg http://www.couichyland.com/Monochrom...ze-JCHI-04.jpg http://www.couichyland.com/Monochrom...ze-JCHI-03.jpg |

sorry to resurrect a dead thread, but..
I'm thinking of buying this DVD (or torrenting, but can't seem to find one?) Yesasia.com says it's DVD Region 2...does this mean it won't play in North American DVD players/computer drives? thanks so much. |

Region 2 wont play in an American DVD player unless you do a remote hack (basically type a code on your DVD remote for your specific model) though a lot of players can play all regions so you should check out your particular player and see if it mentions that somewhere. as for the PC well you should be able to play any region DVD as long as you use VLC or something to play it, instead of Windows Media Player which is region based (only lets you change the region like 3 times before locking to whatever region you picked last) the easiest thing to do is get your DVD players name/code and check online for the code to make it all region.
Or you can make a backup ISO from the DVD without any regional security on it whatsoever pretty easily. Last edited by Ringo~Bingo : 2008.12.15 at 09:39 PM. |

does the backup ISO basically just mean ripping the DVD and then burning it onto a blank disc to play?

This DVD is actually region-free! YesAsia has it wrong!! They usually assume that all Japanese DVDs are region 2, but most of Shiina Ring/Tokyo Jihen's releases have been region free, so they play in pretty much any DVD player, no matter the region setting.
I just checked my copy to make sure. |

YesAsia assumes that just about everything from Japan is Region 2. I can vouch that Just Can't Help It isn't Region 2. Every DVD from Tokyo Jihen so far, has been All-Region. Gekokujyo Xstasy has been the only Region 2 DVD from Shiina Ringo. Oh, and there's the Sakuran DVDs (but not Heisei Fuuzoku).

There are not different 'versions' of Just Can't Help It. There are different packagings (first-press and second-press) with the same catalog number from the same country, but I guarantee you there is no legitimate single-layer release of Just Can't Help It anywhere in the world. If they 'exist', they are 'shrunken' from the official dual-layer release, by people (predominately uploaders and counterfeit-sellers) who do not work for EMI.
If you buy from any of the vendors at the beginning of this topic, they will sell you legitimate dual-layer region-free made-in-japan copies of Just Can't Help It. If you buy from any of the bold links, they help to support this community, but you may also notice that most of the links aren't actually bold (they aren't affiliate links). We prefer to make informed shopping decisions around here. Plus the more vendors you keep tabs on, the more likely you are to find an out-of-print just before it's sold-out everywhere.
