I suppose it's Mora from Moratorium, since Moratorium has more or less the same meaning as "hiatus", and that's what she's doing. Wouldn't you agree?
EDIT: Forgot to thank you for the info kuro_neko! |

Turntable is a really cool thing... I'm no sound expert but I really like the sound of a vinyl better than the sound of a CD (and honestly I've listened to a vinyl with headphones on a decent turntable like 2 times in my life and not even to the full thing, but I could tell I liked it better). Plus the cover art is blown up more on the sleeve - I bet SS is going to look just stunning in that. If it's a 2-disc release (I don't remember if that was announced) and a gatefold, the packaging is going to be beautiful and for that I think the pricing is reasonable.
Not to get preachy though or something; I won't be buying them because I don't have the money for that now. Just encouraging those who do to go for it, because I'm sure it's going to be worth the price. As for the boxes they're a really nice treat, and the pricing IMHO is not bad either, for what you get. However I think they could've packed the single tracks to a separate disc along with Ringo no uta... "bonus tracks" kind of ruin an album a bit as a cohesive whole to me (the total time isn't going to be symmetrical that way anyway! ) but please correct me if I'm wrong here. As a bit of an off-topic question, those who own turntables here, which brands would you recommend to a standard user? I know I want to buy one in some time, and I don't really need a super-duper hi-tech setup. |

I agree that the bonus tracks ruin the albums a bit, not just because most of them don't fit, but also because it's not even the entire singles. All of the 'bonus' tracks just-so-happen to be stuff already remastered in 96kHz/24bit for Watashi no Hatsuden.
What's especially important here is that we finally can have the first three entire albums in 96kHz/24bit, plus all the B-Sides (this is all going to be really nice for Muzai Moratorium and its associated singles). I only wish the B-Sides weren't packaged in their own dedicated discs. Just give us a chronologically faithful discography of singles/albums tracks from Koufukuron to Ringo nu Uta, with all of the other albums/singles inbetween. There's no need to zone off all the B-Sides onto the tail end of the collection, then sprinkle the A-Sides around as 'bonuses'. That's sacrilege, but I'll be buying it anyway, because in the end it's still 96kHz/24bit, and no cosmic forces are stopping me from reorganizing it to play out exactly like my year.month.day subfoldered discography of the original CDs.

Well if you get the CD Box AND Watashi to Houden, you'll get pretty much her full solo discography. You'd only be missing UM, a couple tracks off ZCS, the Tsumi to Batsu single ver. ... that's it I think!

The DVD box basically is the whole solo discography, minus those tracks you mentioned, and the concerts. I only hope that anyone who considers buying the DVD-only box primarily for the the near-complete tracklist, understands that these DVDs aren't particularly user-friendly like a more traditional CD. (I know you already understand, zarya, but not necessarily everyone else understands) Most software can't rip 96kHz, and the few programs that can, have all kinds of default behavior you have to change, like a whole sequence of tracks ending up as one big WAV file. Then you have to possibly downsample the files (for portable players or burning to a standard/playable audio CD), manually name the files, then compress the files, and tag the files. You have to go through all of that before the DVD content becomes even remotely as useful as a CD, and this is true even for DVDs that aren't 96kHz/24bit, like any of the concerts.
