lollll Kameda looks like a creepy doctor. And I agree, Ringo's hairstyle is crazy and I'm not a fan (good thing it is most likely another wig).

her hairstyle is quite elegant. it is done in the popular style if the 1920's. when I saw her I immediately thought of the main character from Lust, Caution. Go figure Ringo would go for a 1920's sheek hair style. I actually like it, it is a lot better than some of the wigs from EXPO, like the long one she had on for Gibbs. More natural.

This was en evening with a lot of men. The only women were Juju and Ringo. Juju had a great aura as well, but Ringo, entering last of all artists is something special. But I wonder how long she can go on with this kind of arrogant position...
* except for the strings ensemble, that had mostly women I believe. They consisted of about 10 people. |

I think it makes sense Ringo went last. Out of all the artists honoring Kameda, she has had the distinction of truly being the closest to him throughout both her and his long careers. She has known him long before her debut and more than any other artist he has worked for, he seems to have a truly personal connection to her, playing in her various bands, live outfits, and records. I see them as really close friends. He has produced and worked with many people, but to me it would make sense for Ringo to really be the headliner here. To me what would seem arrogant is if she got a set list that was longer than other artists or any other distinction. But when you consider most of the songs she sang were either his favorites or songs he wrote, and on top of that one of them was a duet with Hirai Ken, it doesn't seem so arrogant.
besides, I imagine Ringo didn't have much of a say in the order of performing artists. This concert was a cool concept but perhaps they would have done better to have had done it over two nights perhaps at a smaller venue. |
