Yeah, I heard that the dub for Ghost Stories was actually kinda funny even though it was completely different (*coughunlikeOnePiececough*). I've always been interested in watching it.

I'm watching K-ON! and still wondering why I'm keeping up with it. Yui is still really entertaining but Mugi is consistently boring (lesbian undertones and all), Mio's "moe moe kyun!" schtick gets old really fast, Ritsu goes from hyperactive oddball to blackmailer at the drop of a hat, Sawako's constant need to dress them up is annoying, and Azusa gives me a complete mary sue vibe. So the question is: Can Yui continue to carry the show for me until the end?

Animeeeeeeeeeeeee.
I'm currently watching Magic Knight Rayearth 2nd season, .hack//SIGN, Escaflowne, and NANA (almost done, watching very intermittently). I am pretty much just finishing series I started years ago out of OCD; I have no real desire to watch anime anymore, unless it is an adaptation of a manga series I like or there is a voice actor or someone I like associated with it. In manga news, TOKYOPOP closed its publishing arm. No more freelance work for me D: |

I try to like it, I really do, but there's just so much bad stuff.
The ones I do like though, are fantastic: -Evangelion (not only my favourite anime, my favourite TV show ever- well alonside South Park) -Akira -Original Ghost in the Shell -Some of Miyazaki's stuff (Ponyo was a bit wtf why is this so popular?) -Excel Saga made me laugh a few times I've seen more but these are the only ones I've watched more than once. |

If you liked Evangelion, you should check out Gunbuster and Diebuster.
And TTGL of course. |

I thought I was a pretty big anime buff, but when I think about it, there are only 5-or so anime that I like/watch: Cowboy Bebob (my favorite everr), Cardcaptor Sakura, Fullmetal Alchemist, Sailor Moon and Evangelion.
I have more manga, but even with that, I only have the first book of a bunch of series. I'm re-watching Evangelion now. It was the first anime I got obsessed with that wasn't on the TV. I haven't watched it in 10 years though. Hehh. I do like it though. It's got a fun concept. I know it just gets WEIRD near the end though. My memory gets muddles as to why/what/how. Meh. I'm mainly excited that Misato's Usagi from Sailor Moon. And I love Sailor Moon and just watching it for hours, 'cause it's awesome. The vocabulary in Evangelion is... hard for me to get a hold on. It'd probably be very helpful during the nuclear coverage though. ^^; I got one word really clearly though -- bakuhatsu! The word "to explode" that I will always remember forever and ever, because in 300 level Japanese we read a Hoshi Shinichi short about an exploding baby. Heehee. |

TTGL is the complete opposite of Evangelion.
TTGL is pure awesome, no heavy stuff, it's the kind of anime where you get up and cheer with the main characters for winning. Evangelion is heavy and depressing. The idea may be similar, but the tone of the series are completely different. Last edited by TurtleFu : 2011.04.23 at 08:02 AM. |
