Default Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra

I went to a concert of Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra a while ago, and it was brilliant. There are 10 guys up there, and it feels like this wall of sound is coming toward you from the stage.

Later on I noticed that they actually perform with Shena Ringo on the single Mayonaka ha Junketsu! I loved all the songs on that single, and know I know why. Funny how those things come together sometimes

Here's a taste of their live performance:

They did pop by Singapore while I was not around to catch them. Hmpf. Baboo (one of the members on EMF) did manage to catch them live though, and she even got to take a few photos with the bandmembers. Lucky her.

Haha, I was just yesterday thinking about starting a TSPO thread

I saw them live in Barcelona one year ago and they were great! I took a big bunch of pictures (if anyone is interested just ask me).

Still drooling over the pillow every night, dreaming of Yanaka....my next aim is PE'z though. Hope they pop by here soon!

Whoever can catch TSPO live is lucky. I wish I could carry them home. Popping up and down to their music is the best way to slim down...(and break neck if you do it in an extreme manner)

My very very favourites of their songs would be "The look of love" and "Utsukishiki Moeru Mori" (Go youtube and listen to this song if you've not heard of it...worth the try man!)...

I was there also.

It's simply brilliant. In that whole 2 weeks of performances in Mozaik Music Festival. They were the only one that could make the Esplanade concert hall rocks like that.

Hmm, I don't like Ska. Sounds like a "hip" version of Volksmusik. What's Volksmusik you ask?

It's crap

Volksmusik

This was shot in 1989, but it could as well be a show from last saturday.

For me both genres are way to predictable, and with that just boring.

I'm not huge on Ska, but it's definitely not like THAT.

Ska is not one of my favorite styles, but TSPO is not "average" ska at all. Their music is much better (and not as monotonous) than most ska bands I ever heard. They keep the jazzy feeling of the origins of this kind of music.
Very recommended even for those who doesn't like ska.

It's not really like that, it's just, that I can use the same critics for both genres
