^ Those actually refer to two different things. It's the tone, not the actual playing. Clean in this instance is the lack of gain/drive/distortion in his paying. It's clean and sparkly. Adding more drive makes it "dirty."
When I say nasty, I usually mean his tone is way too digital sounding. Even Uki refers to it as nasty. It's not a natural sounding tone and certainly not something you would expect to hear from a Fender tube amp. This is, however, mostly when he plays with distortion. A different distortion pedal might help.

Soo, he can change this without digital tools? As in, what you say is "nasty" is only from the recordings but not in live performances?
Also, you spelled "playing" wrong. But don't fix it so I don't look like a fool |

^ No, he uses pretty much the same rig live and recording. If it sounds nasty in one, it'll sound nasty in the other.

Actually, the "nasty" is what I like the best about him . I love how he can make sounds I've never heard come from a guitar.
But if you do not like the "nasty", how do you like the strokes? Their guitarist (or one of them) makes some pretty "nasty" sounds sometimes. |

What? Nick and Albert don't sound anything like Uki even though they use amps in the same line.

Well, not just like him, but I find some of their sounds pretty strange and reminds me of Uki.

Hi, am new here....
anyway, was reading elsewhere arguments about the merits (or the lack thereof) of tracks like Shiseikatsu and Fukushuu, commenting on how 'weak', how 'un-Ringo' they sound. I think that's somewhat off the point. IMO, the whole album is a parody of different styles, of Ringo trying to do something un-Ringo, to assume ever new "masks". On a 'macroscopic' level (with regards to the whole album) it is a piss-take, but within each song she seemed so genuine in her expression....which is part of the piss-take, i guess? The songs/styles need to be understood in context (of 'Variety' as a theme). What d'ya think? |

Shit, y'all. I'm pretty sure track 1, ランプ, is actually Lamp. Not Ramp. Because if it's about a car, your hazard lights are called 'hazaardo rampu [lamp].' And doing a Google search for ランプ 車 [rampu, kuruma (car)] does turn up some connections. And changing that search to images turns up pictures of things like lights inside the car (the lights that you can turn on at night if you need to look at something, or that turn on when you open a door--I forget what they're called).
I'm pretty sure it's Lamp, since it's referring to car stuff. change your lists? haha... |
