I attempted to listen to the BABYMETAL album.
It made me feel sick to the stomach. I felt like a pedo listening to it. PEDOMETAL. CLT: Lamp's Yume. Seems pretty good so far.

I've been listening a bit to the Babymetal album as well. It's okay, pretty much what I expected.
These last days I've mostly been listening to Puer Kim. I really liked her major debut song.
Her sound on "Manyo Maash" is a bit different from her pre-debut stuff though, so I'm curious to hear what kind of music she'll release next. I hope we'll get some stuff similar to the Korean Vowels album.

CLT:
Yasuha Kominami's "Do Do Airaku" Seems they took the most generic and insta-hit rock song song for the single. The rest is much more interesting and progressive (at least to me). Though it's DAMN SHORT. Just over 20 mins (16 Mins if you don't count the bonus tracks). Made me crave more, so I had to listen to it twice. Interesting that they made this a Tower Records exclusive, though then again, it harkens more to the indie sound she had (yet with A grade production, if that makes any sense). Now waiting for my own copy so I can hear it in non-transcoded full quality.

I really want "Do Do Airaku", it's a shame Tower Records JP doesn't ship internationally. I've never used shopping services before, but it looks like it could get quite expensive. And buying stuff from Japan is already expensive enough with the shipping cost and import tax :/
Been giving Aoba Ichiko's "0" album a second chance. It has some parts I really like, but at times it's a bit slow and difficult to get into. Overall, I do think I like it though. |

BiS have to be the most confusing idol group out there for me. They have a tendency to swing from totally amazing/barely pop to outright awful/unlistenable trash. Lucky then, that their latest album "Who Killed Idol?" is more good than bad, and I don't find anything here too awful. The track "no regret" is just great, and if it weren't for the vocals, you'd never guess it was an idol group...
Can't say it will be in my favorites/most listened albums of this year, but still, a surprising listen. Not as icky/embarassing to listen to as Babymetal, that's for sure. As for Aoba Ichikos "O"- I fell in love with it on first listen a while back and listen to it frequently. I love how basic and stripped back everything is, including the album cover. Cool video clip too.
