The previews for Ringo EXPO, all of them, didn't do justice to the full show or DVD. Their video compression made Ringo's face/make-up look like it was made of plastic and streched, which we can see, in the DVD, that it really wasn't like that. Also, the audio compression hid a lot of stuff.
I was actually surprised most of the time while watching it for the first time, didn't tought it would be this good. The package still sucks a bit, because I can't store it together with the rest of the DVDs. It's this different little guy who just doesn't fit with any group. |

I instinctively clapped at the clap parts in Yokyou it was completely involuntary but it felt right and that's what's important.
All in I really love this show and would rate it as 9.5/10, not a lot wrong with it in my view. |

^ Speaking of clapping, it was awesome that they had people to clap during Blackout! TJ has a lot of clapping in their songs and it always feels weird to me when they can't do it in live performances. It was a very nice surprise.

Yep, '9.5' out of 10. The setlist was great. The arrangements were great. I think these were her best vocals in a SR/TJ concert, ever. The only thing stopping this from being Dynamite Out 2 was the 'theatrics.' This was the perfect closure to her solo career, despite the lack of KZK (Which is fine. This is indeed Electric Mole Part 2).

At last I got to watch the whole thing (thanks again, Ringo~Bingo!!) and I only can say that this is GREAT. It's a very enjoyable show, both in terms of music and visual stuff *_*.
IMO, the highlights of Ringo EXPO 08 are: Hatsukoi Shoujo (OMG!), Shuukyou (inst) (precious ), Suberidai (she did a great job here ^^), Yokushitsu (no need to say why haha), Omatsuri Sawagi, Karisome Otome (O_O I had to watch this twice because I was shocked...) and Koufukuron (she always kicks ass with the Etsuraku version *///*). I also loved Yokyou, of course. By the way, and although this is totally pointless... Ringo EXPO 08 cover: ZAZEN BOYS 4 cover: |

I enjoyed the two songs with Junpei the most. Not because the vocals were the best of the concert, but because Ringo showed a side of herself that doesn't come out too often. I don't think I've ever seen her express her enjoyment so openly in any concert.
Also, I love the Onion Song. Bahhah! |

I've always thought the onion song was weird and I liked it the least on the show. Not sure what's my favourite yet though, need to watch it again.

did anyone notice the progression of the wigs? Something weird occured to me, maybe just a random weird delusion, but still, hear me out.
so she started with the webbed antlers, then she had the long straight hair, then the long on one side, chopped on the other, then the short hair later on. So before her debut ringo was rocking kind of shortish hair usually pinned on top with a really small but tall crown/tiara. Then her hair for the time of SS was long, ala Gibbs. Then she chopped it off and we have the short haired Ringo we've been seeing today. So if you follow the progression of the show her looks seem to follow with the timeline of her career. The antlers could be argued to be an artistic representation of her very early look in an extreme form, with the rest more subtle takes on her looks. I'm sure there was a lot of thought put into the design of the show and having subtle references to her career like this, so I'm probably not overthinking...or am I? |

Dammit, Shiina... as pointed out in a youtube comment, her first outfit seems to be a direct ripoff from a 2006 Alexander McQueen show
I'm quite disappointed. Last edited by freackled : 2009.03.21 at 12:11 PM. |
