I wonder if there's a chance that DEATH JAZZ has been re-recorded. I just don't want it to feel "thrown in", not just in terms of style (because I have no idea what style the majority of the album is) but if it will just feel different. I mean most recordings and albums from a band sound different due to many factors, not just genre but the studio, equipment used and mastering/production etc. I hope it doesn't stand-out too much from the other songs in terms of sound. Maybe if I hear it in context on the album it'll grow on me more too. I don't hate it (that version), but I don't think it's good either. I like the song, but I didn't like the implementation in DEATH JAZZ. Not a problem with S&"P", I have no problem with their own stuff.
Shut up and get in the Lost thread.

I made a pact with myself that when the album is released, not to look at a word anyone here has said about it!
I had a dream last night that the album was leaked. Some people liked it, and some people decided to quit EMF over it because it was horribly 'recorded' in the same way that Kyouiku was. I dream of Ringo and EMF. How sad. One of the tracks was a Mary J. Blige style song. Lol! |

It's funny how dreams can pull things from the back of your mind and bring them into focus.
It would be a good thread but it'd definitely spawn some snarky comments! i.e. "I had a dream that Shiina Ringo was actually good again...then I woke up" "I had a dream that Shiina Ringo's lips were normal again" "I had a dream that Ukigumo impregnated Shiina Ringo" "I had a dream that Shiina was performing Yokushitsu in the EXPO, and instead of plunging the knife into the apple, she plunged her knife into her hand" "I had a nightmare that I was trapped in a room, with Mirror Ball looping" |

I love how we get 17 pages of discussion in 2 days. This board is the best. <3
Anyway, I'm sooo excited about anything that she puts out. But this is coming from someone who actually loved Variety, so I've got no bad blood with her. Plus I looooove Maronouchi no Sadistic and I can't be against any more recordings she throws at us, even if it does mess with the symmetry of the album. |

I have been listening to Soil & Pimp this whole day and then I got back here to read the karisome talk and well then I had to listen the karsiome too and as I had been listening S&P whole day... Karisome sounded better than ever, Ringo giving vocals for a S&P piece !!
ok long story short; i don't hate it at all Last edited by Masuku : 2009.04.18 at 11:08 AM. |

I don't know what this means, but my initial reaction to the notice was to scour it for any mention of Saito Neko.
Finding none, I was very happy. Which is weird, because I've always enjoyed his collaborations with Ringo. If this really is the 4th album, it's quite amazing. Think about it: haven't we always thought that KZK would be impossible to top? That Tokyo Jihen was only a natural step because to continue along the solo route would likely diminish KZK? I'm very curious to what extent Ringo is purposely continuing her "solo" work. It's going to be picked apart for Jihen/Neko influences, real or imagined. Then there's the five years of non-solo experience that will no doubt play into our reactions. This album will represent in a lot of ways Ringo's "true feelings" that were submerged in her collaborative work. In other words, this album is going to be ANALYZED TO DEATH (if not to DEATH JAZZ) ON SO MANY LEVELS OUR HEADS WILL EXPLODE. Can't wait! |
