Kasanagi, have you heard Death Magnetic as a whole? I'm really enjoying it. It isn't a classic like the first 4/5 (Black album debatable?) but it certainly holds up. Definitely a good album. All Nightmare Long is one of my favourite tracks from it too.

Yea I have, the album sounds a bit like Ride the lighting phase Metallica, and a hell lot better than St Anger. I'm enjoying the album, its just when you hear what Robert was playing on acoustic in Mission Metallica, then you see James trying to "translate" (I laughed when he said "We could repeat that...") it...by playing palm muted E for 8 mins @_@. His riff sounded so much better on the jam session too.

I wouldn't include the Black Album as part of their epics, its the Metallica's "Adult" , great and enjoyable and everything, just not gonna be immortalized.

That would make Load and Reload their Variety. An almost dramatic departure from their past work which divided fans and had some nice ideas but was ultimately unfulfilling in comparison to all past work.

Let's hope Ringo doesn't have her St Anger.

I quite like J.A.M (well, it's essentially SAPS without the brasses and Mr Pimp), though I think they could be better.

You should try Jose James' album "The Dreamer". It's very very nice; not in a way that immediately jumps at you, but in a way that gets better, deeper, more complex with every listen you give it.

For Shiina to have her St Anger, she'll have to enter rehab, go through a midlife crisis after the backlash of abandoning her roots then enter the studio and try to recapture her early spirit, failing dramatically. Doesn't sound too far fetched, to be honest.
