About Tegami: I may not have perfect pitch, but I don't hear a bad note. Even if it was there, I think maybe they left the imperfections in on purpose? It's a very post-modern take on music, where sometimes albums are not produced and streamlined to be perfect. (To clarify on Uki vs. Hirama. Uki is distinctive, I like his twangy guitar style and I feel like he has a characteristic sound. Hirama is passionate, but his guitar playing is less distinguishable.) I'm thinking you mean that overused twink-a-tonk muted crap that I hate. Hirama's "quack" (see Kokoro, Bokoku Jousho, and EM MaruSadi for best examples) sounds better, is more difficult to play, and isn't overused.

This has probably been asked before, but is Otona/Adult supposed to mean "Mature" like late-night Dramas, or "Pornographic" like AV?

I'd say Pornographic... given the tour DVD cover and the tour goods

I honestly can't see SR doing a pornographic theme.
Her sexual tones have always been clever more than blatant. (imo) I think "Adult" is definitely meant to be mature. I mean when you look at the lyrics/videos/song titles it screams maturity.. |

It's clear they played it both ways. Leading up to the album, they were clearly going for the "mature" angle, smoking cigarettes, wearing nice clothes, perfume, all the boring shit in the Himitu video. Post album, as seen with Adult Video and JCHI, they played the "Porno" angle. This is also when the band aimed for a less "mature" presentation, cat ears, choreography, jackets from the GAP, dumb videos like "Get it up for Love.".

I don't dislike it, but it certainly doesn't fit the "mature" theme.
I agree with Jihad. Things like JCHI "Service" and the PV for "Get It Up for Love" are fun and goofy, and don't fit either definition of "Adult". |

Get It Up For Love's PV is kind of fun as TJ videos go, but Himitsu's is one of the worst because the cliched bling / money / crap does its best to put you off the song (and I love the song).
