OVERRATED (by some): HF (oh Hedo, why you make me go there again?) Its not cuz it doesn't rock it sucks. It's cuz its uninspired, unoriginal, and uninteresting. I'll leave it at that since its been done to death.

UNDERRATED: Gunjo Byori (is that the right way to spell it, Frecklegirl? I forget these things) If anything this song is underrated and often seems to get washed over. When talking about songs on Kyoiku Sounan usually gets the most DAP (with good cause) and Yume no Ato usually comes up as well. I think Gunjo often gets taken for granted. It's main fault is HZM, but if you flip on Dynamite Out, Gunjo is THE song of the show. The most energetic rawkin performance Shiina ever gave.

(and I always knowingly incorrectly pronounce it as "gun-joe" (gun as in 'bang bang"))

Underrated - Heisei Fuzoku. Just because it is not rock does not mean it is not good.

People aren't saying HF isn't good mainly or exclusively because it "doesn't rock", but rather because it's nowhere near as groundbreaking as Shiina Ringo's previous works. When she did Baishou Ecstasy, that was at least little groundbreaking because although the style itself was nothing original, it was something she hadn't done before, but Electric Mole was more diverse in style than that, and it had testosterone at least part of the time, instead of never. People tend to think of Ringohan as "Baishou Ectasy Part 2" for similar reasons that they think of HF as a disappointment.

Folks are disappointed with Phase 2 Jihen and Neo Ringo because the crew are increasingly consistent in style, and more often than not the styles they're choosing to do, we've already heard from other artists. The more diverse an album is, the more likely we are to hear at least one rock track. We don't need to hear rock anywhere near all the time, but with Ringo/Jihen it's sort of like the canarie in the cole mine - when it's dead, you ought to step back to where you came from, while you still can...

I say this in all seriousness, please please please show me another singer who sings to that kind of music that is not overly opera like or something like that.

^Hedo: That's pretty much any of the female jazz greats.

Sarah Vaughan with Count Basie Orchestra - Just Friends

I know, I especially like Ella Fitzgerald, but what I mean is that HF is alot more orchestrated and powerful sounding whereas Sarah and Ella are more laid back jazz music (not that I do not like them). That is why I find HF to be different from anything I've heard before because it is a blend of classical/orchestrated music and jazz.

About Kabukichou no Joou, I was thinking about the japanese audience, I know fans love it. It's been underrated when it's been released, it should have hit the top 10, and not Koko de Kisu Shite.

I didn't know people love Yukiguni, I know a few fans of SR/TJ and they all dislike it.
