Oh Man, Blankey Jet City talk..
I love too much of their songs to list.. But I really love Akai Tambourine, Kimi no Tenohira, Texas, Bang!, Chiisana Koi no Melody, Kuchizuke, and I'll just stop here, I just love all of it. When I listen to Blankey Jet City I really become a resident of Blankey Jet City, they completely take me into their world.
And this is awesome aswell

^ Ohhh! They're putting out an album?? I can't believe you didn't leave me one of those away messages >_<. Oh @#$@$@$ HURRICANE JANE!!! I'm so sick of that shitty sounding version they have now. Every time I put it on a playlist with the Teach BF to Dance single, the audio quality is so drastically different that I can only listen to Hurrican Jane on it's own. I can't wait!!!
Oh and it's bull-manure that it is coming out several weeks earlier in the UK than in American when they're an American band. Eyesholes. |

And come on, you really didn't know the album was coming this month? Your the guy that sent me high quality versions of the "Not Gonna Teach..." single.

And yea, I really didn't know. I really don't know how I'm supposed to keep track of all the artists I listen to. I bookmarked several of the sites for some of them but I never remember to check them amongst all my other bookmarks. Looking at all the recent releases I have to get, I find most of them by pure chance. I recently found out about Albert Hammond, Jr. releasing a single (I think last month) because I checked the iLike application on Facebook that once in a blue moon and he was in the news section about it. I then found out that he has an album coming out next week because I was bugging my brother about how he could not like him (since he gets most of his music from me) and he told me that Albert was advertising strongly on myspace so I checked the dates and sure enough, it's next week. I found out that Beck has an album coming next week that same time that I checked iLike on facebook. I found out about Sigur Ros' new album I think from an ad I saw on Pitchfork. I forgot where I found out about Bitter:sweet's new album. I found out about Portishead's new one through an Amazon recommendation email, surprisingly enough, it had something I liked on the list =). Oh and I the only reason I bought the Black Kids' single was because I had checked their website to see when they were bringing out new stuff and it was there so I wrote down the release date and preordered it. As for the Japanese artists, they're easy to keep up with because of CDJapan. They send you emails about people you put on your list even if it's just a guest appearance on an album they let you know that something is coming out. That's the only way I knew about Ringo's new release without having been visiting here. So yea, it's pretty lucky how I find out about new releases now. The reason, though, is that since I like so many different artists, there has been someone releasing something recently or me finding new bands so I haven't been dry on music at all. If there were no new releases, or seeming like it, I'd probably be searching more avidly to find out. |
