I getcha, but you could spin a case for all those releases. This drag-and-drop affair reaches new heights. Ringo-chan, release Greatest Hits already! Cherry-picking from your entire discography would display more craft and creativity than dragging and dropping from 'display from most recent'

Yeah, but there are new songs on this release, so it's not entirely a "drag and drop" affair.

It's a slower, pop ballad style song that would flow perfectly into Carnation (the song that is after it on the album tracklist).
The guitar work is supreme. And it sounds nothing like Final Fantasy music (one of the early opinions I read when it started its radio rotation)

I'm still pissed off that this album is apparently aimed towards the crowd who don't give a damn about new SR albums, but I really like the new song.

During the first seconds I thought it was going to be a piano ballad a la Saisakizaka — not that it was a bad thing, but it resulted to be something more compelling. Homogeneous sound, the instrumentation reminds me of Chiaki Kuriyama's Oishii Kisetsu.
I think a nice Ringo-style bridge would have raised the song to the sky. Also, the dynamic range here... is it me or everything sounds flat, tight and a bit opaque? I think it deserves way more room. But I'm afraid it's from the production itself rather than a compression thing; I think it's v0 enconded and it usually doesn't sound like this to my ears. |

Where are you guys hearing the new song?!
Never mind, found it. Love it. Didn't expect it to pick up like that after the intro. Was she feeling some pressure to release another album so soon? Why couldn't she take her time to write more new songs instead of slapping on those old songs? This song is great and I can hear how the rest of those can fit in with this one, though. The song is Arikitarina Onna ありきたりな女 (Ordinary Woman). DG, you spelled it wrong and I was wondering why I couldn't find it Last edited by FadedSun : 2014.09.30 at 11:53 AM. |
