How do you guys define metal? I don't see how anyone on the planet can hate Ronnie James Dio, Symphony X, or Rhapsody. Yes, death metal and black metal are some of the worst things in the world, but there is some damn good metal music that isn't in one of those genres. Progressive and power metal are gifts from the music gods.

I just don't like the sound of metal, no matter what kind of metal. I don't like the style, the use of instruments, everything. Sometimes the songs even have a catchy melody, but I just can't stand the musical presentation of that melody

rhapsody? *hangs himself*
A metal album would be ok to me, but I really doubt that it's a genre for TJ or Shiina Ringo.

(and btw death can be bad, but don't underrate the avantgarde side of black metal ;-) )

It could be interesting though cause there's never been a good metal band from Japan. Now, TJ is not that of course.

"LOUDNESS" is the greatest metal/hard rock band in Japan, AKIRA is one of the well known international guitarist at 80 -90's.

Don't know about "greatest", but Akira is an amazing guitarist, and Loudness do kick ass.

I do like some metal, but TJ doing metal just doesn't seem right.

What about Reggae? Something like Lily Allen's "Smile" seems fitting.

Oh, that would be better than metal, but I only want a little of rock or electronic.
