Salyu is soooooooooooooo boring......
All songs sound the same. And she's closely linked to the worst movie ever too... Cept for Salyu x Salyu, which sounds like Bjork :-p But that's just like my opinion man.

Her ballads in particular are indeed very similar...her last reminds me so much of "Corteo ~Gyoretsu~". But I've come to like her a lot, mainly through the introduction of salyu x salyu. (By the way, is the movie really that bad?)

The movie really is that bad.
It has taken me this much time- just over 2 years to appreciate how awful it was... The bitter taste will never leave. Cannot unsee.

deadgrandma dislikes the movie and Salyu.
I love the movie and dislike Salyu. We both like salyu x salyu. I would encourage anyone to at least watch it once. It's really slow but gets much better by the halfway mark. |

deadgrandma dislikes the movie and (hence?) dislikes Salyu. I've read his statement many times: she's so boring. I understand a link between this Landmark song and Yoru No Umi Tooi Deai Ni, but I don't see how would I consider it sounding the same as Liberty, Suna or this ballad, except if I just heard a couple of songs and I'm just speaking above a weak and vague general impression.
I don't really care about the movie, I saw it years ago and barely remember that it didn't really worked for me, even if Shunji Iwai is one of my favorite directors. But I'm not trying to trigger the same discusion again. Salyu is a unique performer to me but sadly, she barely writes her music. Last edited by Carlx : 2012.02.02 at 08:52 AM. |

I agree, that's why it's a pity to me. But this song shows me how genuine her vocals are on certain songs, instead of just a reproduction of someone else's composition. I don't know how to make it clear, because it's more of a feeling rather than a thought.

Big fan of salyu x salyu, which of course sounds like Cornelius, not Bjork. Not really all that thrilled about anything else.

Oh, of course I like salyu × salyu very much too, and it doesn't remind me of Björk at all either.
Too glad to know she/them are releasing a new live DVD and PV collection these days (2012.2.1, more precisely). I read the full concert features 17 songs, which means either there are new songs on it, or Salyu songs were re-arranged by Cornelius. I don't know which of these two possibilities I'm more keen about. |
