Please recommend me some J-rock
My knowledge of Japanese rock is next to nothing, save for a few bands such Boredoms and Boris.
I liked Number Girl's School Girl Distortional Addict a while back, and recently resumed my love for this band. Please recommend me some Japanese bands that totally rock. Thanks! :-) |

Mutyumu, Gusya Ningen, Mass of the Fermenting Dregs, Uplift Spice are regulars on my playlist to name a few.

I'm not really sure Boris counts as "J-rock" other than it is (more-or-less) a rock outfit from Japan. I'm not trying to split hairs, but what's labelled as J-Rock is usually specific like Jpop is to regular pop. (Which used to drive me nutso-buttso back in the day because Larc en Ciel and that ilk is not my scene.)
But i digress. The Pillows. Not to steal Glath's thunder, but if he were with us today he would say Asai Kenichi whose guitar work you may recognize. Also Acidman. Wild card selection: back in the day when I was just getting in to music from Japan, one song I adored was "Taiyou wa yoru mo kagayaku" by WINO. I never looked in to this band, but I still enjoy the song a great deal. (Apparently this is from an anime too.)
