no worries. I just 'like' how many people raise objections to images of her smoking over the years. (Watch out for all the cigs in the Haitsuku Status dvd!!)

Word was she quit sometime around the Kyouiku/Adult era because it had already started to effect her voice. Can't tell how true that is though.

It must not be removable without wrecking the highs/sound quality.

Remember Phase 1's performance of Gunjou Biyori at the Music Station Super Live? It was hilarious. Hirama and HZM seeing who could jump highest during the second half of the song, some giant bald dude playing the role of Kameda and Shiina hamming up the singing.

I think I started to watch that video. That's the one with all of them practicing songs before the show, right? What year was this released? I don't recognize any of her band members during this time. Actually, what surprised me the most watching this was how many people playing bass their were! I think there were 3 at one time. Another thing, is that I couldn't figure out the menu to get to the concert portion of the bluray. I suspect she would had to have stopped smoking by now considering she just had another kid.

Maybe I didn't notice it before since I was paying attention to the video itself, but now I see the black bars people are talking about. I'm watching Gekokujyo Ecstasy right now and noticing how much the video portion is scaled down. It would have been nice if they full screened it. I have to agree that the audio quality is great, though.

What's with the reusing the sports jackets? Meh.
It really seems like she's not really taking the performance seriously anyway, maybe because she was lip syncing. Or maybe she's just over it all.

I think you are talking about Hatsuiku Status, a secret Shiina Ringo's rock band that toured in 2000 featuring 3 bassists, Ringo being one of them.

Don't waste your time being heartbroken over this. Anyone who lets Izawa and Ukigumo near the mic has more 'singing live' cred than any other artist.

I ordered the live box from HMV. They shipped it on the 13th and I received it today.

So far I've only briefly tested GX and Electric Mole and, wow, you guys were right about the video. They look identical to the DVDs with all the terrible aliasing. But there's less compression artifacts and they're slightly sharper.

Will watch them properly later to see if the audio really is any better. I don't find 24/96 to make much difference (and I've got a pretty decent setup), unless they've remastered it.

Musicians lip sync in PVs all the time. It's no big deal.

I take it you've never seen anything on Music Station before? Its all like that...

As for smoking Ringo... It kinda came with the territory at the time of her bad girl rocker image... Not really something that bothers me/to be shocked by.

Smoking is or at least was much more socially acceptable in Japan. Especially a 20 year old with money. I highlyddoubt it was or is an image thing
