can't help it- I'm Jewish
today was the first time I watched a high quality version of the video (courtesy of Ringo~Bingo) and it was difficult NOT to see it. I figured this might be common knowledge already. managed to get a clear screencap: Last edited by a_grumble_cake : 2009.05.21 at 04:02 PM. |

I always thought the kinbaku was the most intriguing part of her outfit in that PV. Anyway, the swastika has ancient Eastern and Western religious roots, used by the Hindus, Buddhists, Greeks, Celts etc, so there is no reason to presume this button is Neo-Nazi.
And Sid was more of an anarchist than a Nazi. Big difference. |

She or generally peoples should be more sensitive to these issue
and I think it was the reason for erasing Hitler by EMI. There are things not suitable for fashion or jokes. |

I have spent significant time with only a few dozen well educated, 30-something intelligent Japanese artists, but what struck me most was their almost universal ignorance about WWII. Which of course is not their fault. People should not be faulted for not knowing what they are not taught.
There are some ultra right wing wackos in Japan who have temporarily skewed history, but ideological myopia is unfortunately universal. Some Creationists in the USA consider The Flintstones to be valid pre-history. The nice thing is that at this point in time there is a wealth of information available to anyone who wishes to learn. The internet deliciously dilutes the influence of Texas textbook censors and Japanese sound truck freaks. |

Honestly, is it then the right thing to censor the swastika all the time, even when not used in a Neo-Nazi context? This approach will never de-stigmatize the symbol which was used for thousands of years but has been misused for a comparatively minute period of time. There's nothing wrong with the symbol itself, and it needs to be perceived in this way.
It's wonderful how "Hitler" got cut out on Shouso Strip, but apparently there's nothing wrong with Japanese textbooks conveniently avoiding their wrongdoings in WWII, and the subsequent ignorance by the common people as Tesla points out. It's actually a pretty scary thought. |

I know it's not an easter egg.. but it's interesting and I hope it was not posted before..
it's about Ringo no uta promo poster... which had not Ringo herself in it... instead, she got cosplayed by three japanese artists GIPS: Yasuko Tomita (actress, singer) She's also from Fukuoka, like Ringo STEM: Shichinosuke Nakamura (kabuki thatre actor) He actually plays both male and female roles in Kabukis.. he also played the Meiji emperor from The Last Samurai. HONNOU: Kumiko Asou (actress) She played "Luna" in Casshern (a movie where STEM was used as theme song) and also did the drama "Shinsengumi". |

That's so weird to see people other than Ringo in those poses. Never seen that before.

Hahaha, cool! I had seen something related to this at some of her RAT magazines, I think. I didn't know it was the promo poster for the single .
BTW, I find Kumiko Asou so beautiful. I didn't know she was involved in this XD. I fell in love with her in CASSHERN. Luna . |
