Mike Patton!
So I recently got into Faith No More, beginning with Angel Dust, which is an amazing album. Now, I'm going to go back and listen to the Mr.Bungle stuff, and I absolutely cannot wait.
He's kind of what I expected Shiina Ringo to be/become, if you know what I mean. Why, oh, why did I have to get into him JUST when FnM begins their comeback tour in my home city. |

My YouTube trolling accidentally reached him.
Semba kiyohiko(Haniwa All Stars) -> Sakata Akira -> Yamashita Yosuke(trio) -> Kanazawa Miyako(Le*Silo) -> Yoshida Tatsuya(Koenji Hyakkei) -> Mike Patton http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ay90lsVARNQ A decade ago, I had encountered too many this kind of noisy improvisation of Haino, Yoshida etc. |

I love Mike Patton. He's probably one of the best artists of modern music.

Someone recommended Mike Patton/Faith No More (I think) to me and all I could find were 20 years old Youtube videos recorded with cheap cams. Did I do something wrong? Can someone show me an high-quality sample so I can tell if I like him? I seriously tried on my own!

Are you trying to find just live performances? If not, I'm sure someone uploaded the whole of Angel Dust on there.
I was trying to find lives too and had the same experience. Listening to Mr.Bungle (Self-titled) and all I have to say is wow and Is there a way we can gather every member of this forum that misses young Shiina and get them to listen to it? |

Mostly impressive, but he done some shitty things. Like most of his experimental/noisy things.
Don't misunderstand me here, I like the "genre", but I just didn't see any interest in this kind of project coming from him. On the other hand, When you listen to some Faith no more, Mister Bungle, Fantomas, Lovage, Peeping Tom or Mondo cane, you can't help but think he's quite exceptionnal for doing all these different kind of things so well, with such an unstoppable thirst to try new things. |

Yep, Mr.Bungle is set to become one of my favourite albums of all time.
