Do You Like...
*gasp* Rap music?
Hah. It may just be me, but most people I've met on the Internet who listen to Japanese music seem to have a hate for any Rap. However, if you're different and you actually do listen to rap, what kinds of artists do you listen to? My favorite rappers have to be Nujabes and Kanye West. I find them different from other mainstream rappers, because they don't only rap about sex and drugs, it's only like... 50% of their songs. Ahaa. Let's be honest though, if Shiina Ringo made a song about getting drunk and having sex, you'd love it. YOU KNOW IT'S TRUE. |

Rap is like communism. Its a neat idea, and it might have locally worked early on. But as more people bought into it, the more fucked up it became and the more it lost it's sight.
I like rap in principal (not saying i'm a fan of communism necessarily mind you) and theres a wee bit I like. But most of it I cant bother with to stand -- so for the most part, no, i dont like it. (if i havent lost ya)

I hate rap music. I do like M-flo and they rap alot but usually mixed with a girl singing so its ok to me, but I do not like any of their songs that are mainly rapping. Plus, m-flo is not just beats, their music varies and mixes alot of things which most rappers do not do, they just have a beat. Also, Nujabes raps? I thought he just makes the music and gets other people to rap on them @_@ I hate rap. It doesnt have the same emotion as singing. |

The YEAH song fails compared to GET LOW
Holy crap, I wish I could get those damn YT tags to work. lol, seriously though, if that video is what your guys' main impression is on all rap, then I understand why you hate it. But really, there are some GOOD sides to it in this world... they are just hidden by that. Last edited by bromithia : 2007.06.22 at 11:05 PM. |

I don't even like the rap stuff that Gilles Petersen spins on his weekly radio1 show. It's the only flaw in his repertoire.

I don't really hate any whole genre, but rap isn't one I listen to too often. I quite like a lot of early hip-hop stuff like Grandmaster Flash and NWA, and stuff like Run DMC and The Beastie Boys (Not really rap per se, right?).
As for present rap, I don't mind listening to a tiny of of Jay-Z, Kanye West and I quite like the two Dr. Dre albums but I mostly listen to British Hip-Hop/Garage/Grime such as Dizzee Rascal, and even then it isn't too often:
