Right before the EMF Tokyo Jihen ranking poll ended I rediscovered Dai-hakken and now kinda wish I had put Kaze ni etc. in my Top 10. Really grown on me. |

Discovery itself is kind of growing on me. I've got it going in the car a lot.
It still feels like two mini-albums crushed together. But damn, it has great bits. |

At the right time, the album is a fucking blast, especially with Handsome Sugite added in

Me too! I've revised my previous opinion, of it being only a pale shadow of Sports, quite a bit.
Some of this may have to do with my recent realization that Atarashii Bunmei Kaika, after about three extra-tall cans of Sapporo, is the BEST karaoke song. |

anyway, as someone has probably said already, best way to enjoy discovery is by playing it on shuffle.. kinda helps to remove that "two mini albums" feel it gives you.. |

Thanks for the translated interview, freckle! It's actually really helped me gain a further appreciation for the album! Especially Denki no Nai Machi. That story Ringo gave about all of the power going out in Saitama really spoke to me. It's now one of my favorite tracks on the album. The lyrics are just very poignant and beautiful. Definitely worth a second listen.

This Album is still the Most Recommendable Phase2-Album to Date
(..., admittedly, since 東京事変 is dead now,... ...i have to rethink, if "Otona" or "Daihakken" is the Best of said Phase ...) But, Hell-Yeah. (... and, Thank you, Frecklegirl. I've always appreciated your Translations!!!THX) Last edited by das_blibber : 2012.07.09 at 06:07 PM. Reason: Typos & Style |

Kaitei ni Sukuu Otoko & Katsute wa Otoko to Onna are my least favorite track on the album. I can see exactly what you mean by shuffle because my only real complaint about this album last year is the track order.
