2009 Ringo is a gravure idol with sexy promo photos and PV and happy, family friendly music that wont leave mom and dad asking you "wtf are you listening to? turn that down!" Thats how its done in Japan.

Frankly, it's absurd to have to wait until August to listen to this. But it's an absurd world I live in......

I'm starting to feel bad for bashing this album. I still loathe a few songs, but the ones that I already liked are really growing on me. I'd now say that most of the songwriting on SG is superior to much of Variety, but I really do miss the band's sound regardless.

fluffie: Did you like Rashipokimon/whatever APPA's debut album was called? It sounded a lot like VARIETY to me. One track sounds NEARLY exactly like Kronekodow.

I listened to the album a couple times, but I don't remember much of it. I'm not a big fan of Izawa's voice, so I'll probably never love the album, even if the music is great. It's the same for me with Hirama's stuff. Uki doesn't suffer from the droning Japanese man voice, so I enjoy his non-Jihen work a lot more than the other dudes.
Also, I thought Kronekodow was alright, but it's definitely one of my least favorite tracks from the album. :B Maybe I will listen to Rashipoki again at some point though, just to develop more of an appreciation for Izawa's writing. After all, Kaban no Nakami and SSAW are some of my faves. so_cold, I still feel the same about Tsugou no ii Karada. It's a good song up until she starts to sing in English, and then it's just atrocious. I still can't get into this version of Karisome Otome (HF's was great); Ryuukou/Hayari is slowly growing on me, but I still don't like it; and Yokyou is pure garbage. Her "THANK YOU" at the end makes me cringe even more every time I hear it. Suuuch a lame song. The rest are good/great. Last edited by fluffiethesock : 2009.06.30 at 02:33 PM. |
