RPG Guy". I love final fantasy, it's stories, characters, gameplay, and styles. I hate elder scrolls, oblivion, and world of warcraft because I find they lack style, or a style that I like anyway. I really want a ps3, but it is too expensive, but I'm going to have to get it anyway when FFXIII and FFXIII Versus come out. Like I said, I like Halo, but after the disappointment that was Halo 2, to me, it really ruined the genre for me. I just lost interest. But its not just what halo 2 did, but I feel completely overwhelmed by FPS games that are not interesting to me or have bad character design (ex. Gears of War). But, its not just the 360, because it was pretty FPS back in xbox 1, but its the ps3 also. The other day I was flipping through a PSM magazine and all I saw was sci-fi FPS games. Its just too much in the market. I'm sure it probably does not account for probably more than 30% of the games out there, but the main ones are. Even for ps3, it was Resistance Fall of man (or whatever it was called). I'm just not too interested. |

^ Sounds like you are more of a Japanese gamer Hedo , and damn it, quality JRPG are lacking these days, apart from Valkayrie Profile 2, I don't think I played a decent JRPG for the last 6 months...

I hate to categorize the kinds of games I want by where they are from, but I just think the Japanese RPGs are more stylish which is why I like them. Also, I do not play too many "JRPG"s, just the really good ones like FF, Xenosaga, and KH. Unfortunately, I do not play as many RPGs as I would like because there are not many good ones out there. There are some lesser known RPGs that I thoroughly enjoy, though, Disagea being a pretty old one, and Odin Sphere being a recent title. Very good stuff.
EDIT: I really want to play persona but I have not the cash for it right now as I'm saving up to get a Wii+Metroid+Guitar Hero III @_@ |

I like Final Fantasy just as much as you. I've played every one from VI to XI (MY PS2 died before XII came out). I don't want a PS3 because of the lack of exclusive games that interest me (Aside from MGS4 and Little Big Planet) but I will be getting one when FFXIII is released (2009) because of that game, the fact that the console will have a decent catalogue and the fact that it will be a lot cheaper. It just isn't worth it at the moment.
And I too prefer JRPG style to the likes of Oblivion (Though Oblivion is still an absolutely astounding game) but it's getting a bit too generic and repetitive now. All the lead guys looks the same. Square-Enix needs a new hairdresser. And to tie me over until FFXIII I have Sakaguchi's Lost Odyssey and Square-Enix's Last Remnant on the 360. And Mass Effect of course, which is going to be stunning. Might be too western for you though. You can do a disc swap using Swap Magic. You don't need to open your console, or chip it and it lets you play imports. I used it to play the original Guitar Hero before it's UK release, and numerous Japanese Beatmania games.

To be honest I don't give much about FF13, especially since we already know that it's not a single game they would put all their effort in, but a whole brand. That sucks. They didn't managed to produce a decent FF without Sakaguchi, I think they need to get that done first, before they try to pull out a whole series of games. I'm much more excited about Lost Odyssey than anything Sqaure is doing at the moment. And all the RPGs Square is making besides FF13 are more interesting for me than that one.
