You noticed I was gone, Osiris?
I think this album needs some time to digest for me. I was expecting an album with the Expo sound and it only partially delivered. I'll agree that it's much better than Variety and HF. SG did the throwback sound good while it was poorly executed in Variety. The first five tracks really remind me of Kyouiku more than anything and that's a good thing. Then the album morphs into a better HF and mostly stays that way. I was disappointed that the main riff of Yokyou was changed. That was the best part of Expo version.

If Yayoshi had kept the guitar part that he played at Expo it would have been a lot better. Not sure why they decided to completely change it.

people are finally coming down from their high and recognizing the problems with SG. Don't know how an album that lacks catchy melodies or memorable hooks be considered 'good'...

hahah, cant help but feel you're using some of my old lines against me Choobies =p
I'm having a little trouble retorting though. The songs are interesting to listen to though. They are entertaining where in most songs you think you know what to expect and theres something just surprising enough to catch your interest. In my gut I can't say it's a bad album. Its certainly not her best written album, but I think alot could be said for the arrangements. On my first listen, that's what I most noticed than the melodies and whatnot. I'm not saying this is a 9/10 either. In the grand scheme of things though, I don't think the SR community will look upon SG like Variety/HF OR like MM/KZK. I think maybe like Kyouiku, some good but with fairly apparent hinderences.

Kyoiku had some pretty high peaks...
Oh and wasn't really picking on you Jihad, I only glanced through your post on the last page and just got the overall feel of what you wanted to say.

Something that may have ruined "Yokyou" for me: when the chorus starts, try singing the chorus to "Stop" by the Spice Girls.
You're welcome. |

I feel that the album starts weak with the first track, but it begins to improve until Tsugou no ii Karada, which then pretty much ruins the first half for me. And then it picks up again, and Yokyou ruins the second half. Great placement of bad songs, Ringo. At least Marunouchi Sadistic closes it well. So, when I think of listening to SG, SG = Marunouchi Sadistic.
